To calculate a highly reliable skin age from a measured value obtained by a device for measuring the size (skin hill area) of the texture of a skin surface and the depth of a skin groove and to provide it as cosmetic information to be easily understood by a testee.
The skin hill average areas and skin groove average depths of a standard part which is a part of the skin less affected by an external environment in daily life (the bend surface part of an upper arm or a forearm, for instance) and an evaluation part which is a specified skin part such as a face are calculated by projecting images for which the skin surface is photographed by a magnification camera on a display and processing the images, the measured values of the skin hill average areas and skin groove average depths of the two parts are respectively compared, and the skin age of the testee is calculated from the values. The general skin age is calculated on the basis of the skin age calculated from the respective measured values.
