Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically calculate the accurate residual quantity of a tape independently of the classification of the tape by calculating the thickness of the used tape in accordance with the time required for first rotation, that for N-th rotation, and the tape transporting speed at the time of rotating reels as prescribed. CONSTITUTION:Rotations of rotation detecting disks 7a and 7b interlocking with a tape supply side reel base 6a and a take-up side reel base 6b respectively are detected by rotation detectors 8a and 8b. A time T1 required for first rota tion and a time TN required for N-th rotation are calculated at the time of rotating disks 7a and 7b as prescribed, and a thickness D of the used tape is calculated by these times and a tape transporting speed S for this rotating operation is accordance with D=S(T1-TN)/2pi(N-1). Thus, the accurate residual quantity of the tape is automatically calculated independently of the classifica tion of the tape.
