To provide a method for casting an anode by which the specifications of the electrolytic copper obtained in an electrolytic process can be stabilized by reducing the deformation speed of a mold and uniformizing the thickness in the shape of the anode for electrolysis.

Grooves are arranged on almost the whole surface of a master mold used for casting a mold so as to dispose projections on the casting surface of the mold used for casting the anode for electrolysis. The above grooves desirably have a grid pattern. As one sample of the grooves, grooves having the grid pattern of 50 mm square and 7 mm depth is given.
