PURPOSE: To provide a casting method of a hollow member where no cracks due to solidification shrinkage or no reactive layer between a die and the member is generated.
CONSTITUTION: In a casting method of a hollow member, a thin carbon hollow core 4 which can be deformed corresponding to the solidification shrinkage of the metal to be cast and whose thickness is 1-5% of the diameter is used. Because carbon is not reactive with the molten metals or alloys including Ni-Ti alloy, no reactive layer is formed on the surface of the hollow member. The surface of the carbon core 4 can be finished smooth, and the inner surface of the hollow member can be cast with high precision. The carbon core 4 is thin, and contracted corresponding to the solidification shrinkage of the molten metal, and no cracks due to solidification shrinkage are generated in the hollow member.
