PURPOSE: To constitute such a method for casting light metal parts made of magnesium, more particularly traveling car wheels in which metal is melted in the state of shutting off air, is transported into a casting mold and is cured therein to the method by which such good quality having a dense texture and having a poor corrosion sensitivity may be obtained.

CONSTITUTION: A lower section 4 of the casting mold and the melt in a casting furnace 6 connected in front thereof and a separate melting furnace 8 is transported into the lower section of the casting mold and the intrinsic casting mold 2 in the state that both opening ends are held at the same melt level 23 existing on the lower side immediately below the casting mold inlet by siphon-like connecting piping 5 and 10 respectively projected into the melt in the state that the piping of the melting furnace is shut off by the overpressure supplied to the casting furnace 6.
