Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an alcohol by performing a reaction of a carboxylic acid and/or carboxylic acid ester with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst.
This method for producing the alcohol is to use a catalyst having a high mechanical stability and a high activity, and obtained by co- precipitating a compound of copper and a compound of zinc on a supporting material of aluminum oxide powder, and further calcining in an extent to obtain a pore size distribution showing 2 peaks.
