To provide a technique of cellulosic waste disposal and, more precisly, a novel method for cellulosic waste disposal which surmounts a conventional system causing environmental pollution.

This method comprises impregnating cellulosic wastes with an additive solution, subjecting the impregnated wastes to heating or exposure to flame in an active atmosphere at a temperature of about 80 to about 300°C for a time determined from the concentration of the additive solution to accelerate the dehydration and carbonization suppressed in the formation of combustible gases by the heating or exposure to flame by virtue of the catalysis of the additive solution and to turn most of the solid component of e.g. the wastes into carbide residues to fix.
