PURPOSE: To shorten the time and to simplify an electric circuit by changing dies in a transfer press composed of a plurality of presses having slides different in the lower dead center at the intermediate point of the differences between the lower dead centers of the slides at the same time.

CONSTITUTION: A work 2 carried in from a destacker 5 is conveyed by the transfer bars 6 from the upstream side in sequence to each working station of a ring press 3 and an eccentric press 4. The ring press 3 fitted on the main body 1 has the slide 3a and the work 2 is formed by dies 7 of an upper die 7a and a lower die 7b on the lower surface of the slide 3a and on the bolster 3b. The lower dead center of the slide of this ring press 3 lies at the crank angles 190W200° while the lower dead center of the slide of the eccentric press 4 lies at 180°, and at the intermediate point of them, die changes of the presses 3, 4 are performed simultaneously. The difference between these lower dead centers is absorbed by an elastic stopper of the die 7. Hereby, the die changing time is reduced, and since a control circuit is not always required for each press, electric circuits, too, are simplified.
