Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and a circuit device capable of optimally synchronizing communication cell streams. CONSTITUTION: This method synchronizes the communication cell streams redundantly transmitted through a route pair AP and EP in a cell directional communication network ATMN provided with plural switching devices CCa and CCb, an ATM communication network operated in an asynchronous transmission mode for instance, by control cells inserted to the communication cell streams. In the method of a type for inserting the control cells to the two communication cell streams at the start end part of the route pair with respectively prescribed time intervals and separately monitoring the generation of the control cells at the end part of the route pair for the two communication cell streams, the control cell is provided wish a continuous number continuously changed for each control cell, a preceding communication cell stream is detected based on the continuous numbers generated in the two communication cell streams at the end pant of the route pair and the preceding communication cell stream is delayed until the same continuous number is generated in the two communication cell streams.
