PURPOSE: To improve treating capacity in the case of inspecting a glass plate and classifying it at intervals of a plurality of kinds.

CONSTITUTION: A glass plate 1 is taken out one sheet by one sheet to an inspection position B from a supply position A and inspected. The glass plate 1 is classified into a nondefective and a defective. These are held in vessels 11-13 of correspondent classification positions C, E, F in the each classified kind. Three positions A, B, C are aligned in the equal intervals and an inspection stage 3 is arranged movably back and forth in the central inspection position B. Two classification positions E, F are provided in the lower position thereof. The nondefective of the glass plate 1 is supplied to the classification position C by a handling device 4. When the inspection stage 3 is moved to a classification position D, the defective of the glass plate 1 falls by gravity and is classified just under by a back and forth movable gate 20 and supplied to the correspond classification positions E, F.
