To provide a method for cleaning contaminated soil capable of efficiently removing cadmium in cadmium-containing paddy field soil.

In the method for cleaning the cadmium-containing paddy field soil, an aqueous solution of chemicals is applied to a cadmium-containing paddy field, the soil and the aqueous solution are mixed and agitated, thereafter, are left standing to elute cadmium in the soil, are further agitated and, thereafter, are left standing to sediment the soil, the supernatant waste liquid is removed and the soil is thus cleaned with the aqueous solution of chemicals.
