Abstract:
To provide a method for cleaning EDI which restores desalting performance and which is capable of obtaining high quality deionized water at an early stage in the operation resumption after cleaning.
The method for cleaning an electrical deionized-water producing apparatus 10 having a structure of two desalting chambers includes: a cation cleaning process having a cation regeneration operation in which an acid solution is poured into a cation removal chamber 52 filled with an ion exchanger including a cation exchanger; and/or an anion cleaning process having an anion regeneration operation in which alkali solution is poured into an anion removal chamber 54 filled with an ion exchanger including an anion exchanger.
