Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form an antifungal and mildew-proofing zeolite layer on the surface of a substrate by migration electrodeposition.

CONSTITUTION: An antifungal and mildew-proofing zeolite powder is dispersed in org. solvent, and a voltage of 30-1000V is impressed to deposit the zeolite powder by migration electrodeposition. When an insulating material is used for the substrate, the substrate is made conductive by electroless plating or conductive ceramic coating. The zeolite coating the substrate surface us heated at 200-700°C for 1 to 10min and baked. As a result, a coating layer having a stabilized zeolite structure is formed by firing it at a relatively low temp., and highly stabilized antifungal and mildew-proofing properties are maintained over a long period.
