Abstract:
To provide a process for working thin foil structures, e.g. metal foils or polymer films.SOLUTION: A process includes the steps of: transporting a foil structure in a coating area in a vacuum chamber, the foil structure having a thickness of less than 40 μm; coating the foil structure with a protective layer using a gaseous coating material, the gaseous coating material comprising a metal; applying an active material on the foil structure to form a first electrode having a first chemical potential; assembling the first electrode and a second electrode, the second electrode having a second chemical potential; and sealing the first electrode and the second electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
