Title:
METHOD FOR COATING CONCRETE STRUCTURE WITH ANTIFOULING ZINC METALLIC TILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000220122
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for coating concrete structure with antifouling zinc metallic tiles by which the wall surface of the concrete structure can be coated extremely easily with the antifouling zinc metallic tiles and the maintenance cost of the tiles can be reduced.

A method for coating concrete structure is used for protecting the surface of a concrete structure which comes into contact with seawater. In the method, antifouling metallic tiles 2 composed of zinc are stuck to the wall surface 1 of the concrete structure with a thickly applied adhesive 3 and the tiles 2 are united in one body by filling up the joints among the tiles 2 with zinc paste. It is preferable to use 99.99% pure zinc or a zinc alloy containing 0.2-0.5% aluminum as the antifouling metal and to electrically connect the tiles 2 to each other by sticking a conductive metallic ribbon tape of copper, zinc, etc., to the rear surfaces of the tiles 2. It is also preferable, in addition, to electrically connect the tiles 2 to the reinforcement of the concrete structure or another metallic structure.
