Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a long-size metal plate which moves continuously by which it is possible to give the plate a metallic appearance and form a beautifully decorative coat without increasing the number of bakings.
SOLUTION: A top colored base coating and a top clear coating are applied to the surface of a long-size metal plate which moves continuously through or not through a primer-cured coat and these coatings are baked to form the top clear coat on the top colored based coat. In this coating method, the top clear coat is formed by wet-on-wet coating on the top colored base coat. Further, the top colored base coating is a coating which contains fine organic resin particles with an average particle diameter of 5-80 μm which is not completely melted by baking at the time of forming the coat and a colored pigment, and the top clear coating contains a glittering powder.
