Title:
METHOD FOR COATING PHOTOCATALYST FOR POLYESTER MOLDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009061404
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for coating a photocatalyst for polyester molding that prevents photocatalysts such as titanium oxide from being buried in a binder component used for coating a polyester molding material, allows the photocatalyst to be densified and strongly bound on a surface of the polyester molding material, and allows an activity of the bound photocatalyst to last for a long period of time.

The method for coating a photocatalyst for polyester molding comprises allowing electrostatically a photocatalyst to be bound to a film by forming a silica barrier layer where dehydration condensation reaction is completed by performing thermal processing at a temperature of 70C or higher for ten hours or longer after covering the surface of the polyester molding with an organic silane compound, and then allowing the layer to contact a mixture solution with weight ratio of photocatalyst to water of 0.0005 to 0.1:1 at pH of 6.5 or less after forming a dried film of polyvinyl acetate series resin negatively charged.
