Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the title method which does not require vapor cleaning with a harmful org. solvent, e.g. trichloroethane, and enables coating without any pretreatment or only with washing with water.
CONSTITUTION: A polyolefin molding washed with water or not pretreated is coated with a primer compsn. and then with a topcoating compsn. The primer compsn. mainly comprises 100 pts.wt. chlorinated polypropylene modified with an unsatd. dicarboxylic acid and having an acid value of 3-80, a degree of chlorination of 18-28, and a wt.-average mol.wt. of 30,000-170,000 and 1-50 pts.wt. epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 90-1,200.
