Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the yield of a coating material and to reduce cost by heating the interior of a rotary piston engine and subsequently spraying and applying the liquid coating material to the frank surface of a rotor and, after preparatory drying, operating the engine to heat the same.

CONSTITUTION: One ignition plug 10 is detached from a plug hole 8 and a liquid coating material such as a modified fluorocarbon resin is sprayed to the frank surface of a rotor 3 from a spray gun 11 while the spray gun 11 is inserted in and held to the plug hole 8. Prior to this, a rotary piston engine is subjected to warming-up operation to preliminarily raising the temp. in a rotor housing 1 to predetermined temp. By this preparatory heating, the release of the coating material at the time of final drying is prevented. In the final drying, the surface temp. of the rotor 3 is held to 80W130°C to keep the operation of the rotary piston engine for 20 min or more.
