The method is provided with a coloring process in which the surface 10 of the wood-like formed article 1 is coated with a colored coating 2 to be colored, a polishing process in which the applied coating 2 is polished to form unevenness 21 on the surfaced of a part coated with the coating 2, and a finishing process in which the polished surface is coated with a transparent or translucent finish coating.
