To provide a method for collecting valuable metal from copper electrolytic slime, capable of improving a gold reduction rate so as to be equal to or greater than the rate in a conventional method without adding urea in reduction processing for reduction of gold.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for collecting valuable metal from copper electrolytic slime, the method comprising: (a) a step for exuding slurry of the copper electrolytic slime with chlorine, for exuding gold, platinum group metal, selenium, and tellurium; (b) a step for performing solvent extraction processing to the acquired chlorine exudate for extracting the gold to an organic phase, then after washing the organic phase with a hydrochloric acid, reducing the organic phase with an oxalic acid, for collecting the gold as a simple substance. In step (b), in washing the organic phase with the hydrochloric acid, water is added to the organic phase for dilution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
