PURPOSE: To correctly form a pair of bobbins of different types of cross winding bobbins by carrying the cross winding bobbin onto a cross winding bobbin conveyor in an arranged state formed automatically in a pair using a runnable automatic cross winding bobbin changer, and providing a control device to cooperate with the above conveyor.

CONSTITUTION: Between different types of cross winding bobbins L1, L2 produced at a winding spot SP, the bobbin L1 is set on a bar 15 in a row at a pitch of (t), and the bobbin L2 is directly set on a conveyor 23. Next the bobbin L1 on the bar 15 is set so as to be positioned in a gap between the bobbins L2 on the conveyor 23 to form the bobbin pair P. An automatic device 41 having a sensor 42 detects whether a cross winding bobbin exists or not and has a correct size or not and which category it belongs to using the sensor 42, and when the bobbin having sufficient size does not exist, the device 41 actuates a protrusive rod 43 existing at a spot SP on turn on a failure lamp 45 or to stop the conveyor 23.
