PURPOSE: To laminately compact powder multi-layers surely preventing shifting between layers by compacting green powder having high density engaging part using one side of the powder at the end part, green compacting the other powder layer between the above green powders and sintering.

CONSTITUTION: A second powder 3' is charged in a die 6 and lower face of a punch 10 is brought into contact with the upper face of the second powder 3'. Successively, after pushing the second powder 3' into the space part at the different step part with a punch 11 by pushing up the punch 8 upward, temporarily green-compacting is executed by pushing down the punches 10, 11. For this purpose, the green powder composing of a second powder layer 3 having high density engaging part 4 at the peripheral end part is compacted. Next, this green powder 3 is arranged as turning the engaging part 4 upward in an outer die 12' and on this, a first powder 2 is charged and further the other green compact 3 is arranged as turning the engaging part 4 downward. Under this condition, the practical green powder compact is executed by a punch 12' and the powder multi-layer inserting the first powder layer 2 between the second powder layers 3 is compacted and sintered at about 1,130°C for about 1hr under N2 gas atmosphere and the sintered compact having three layer construction is obtd.
