To provide a method of composting organic wastes which can be suitably used for saving the consumption of fossil fuels largely and for cutting down on the running cost and an apparatus therefor.
The method of composting organic wastes comprises a maturing and fermenting step of maturing and fermenting organic wastes such as dung and kitchen garbage, a deodorizing step of recovering malodor gases occurring at the maturing and fermenting step and to deodorize the gases by adsorbing them in a deodorizer, and a pre-drying step preceding the maturing and fermenting step of vaporizing the moisture in the organic wastes using hot air produced in a hot air chamber in order to prepare the conditions suited for the fermentation. The heat source for the hot air used in the pre-drying step is the heat of combustion generated by burning the deodorizer which have lost deodorizing ability as it adsorbed the malodor gases at the deodorizing step.
