To improve a method and an apparatus which can efficiently treat and arrange dross cake obtd. after recovering metallic aluminum by compressing aluminum dross scraped out from aluminum melting treatment equipment.
The dross 4 scraped out from the aluminum melting treatment furnace is charged into a receiving mold 3 set on a slit member 2 and also the compression is executed with a pressing head through a pushing plate 25 having a grasping part at the center part to extrude and separate the fluidized component, such as molten metal and air, in the dross. Subsequently, the push- supporting force is applied to the pushing plate 25 on the compressed dross 4a compressed in the dross receiving mold 3 to remove the compressed dross 4a from the mold. Further, the dross cake 8 on the slit member 2 is discharged with a discharging cylinder and transferred into a table lifter arranged outside a conveying line and laid in order.
