To provide a method for compressing and bending a metallic stripe material in which a leading side clamp 48 is an outer face gripping type and has a large application range, an attachment 50 for preventing a neck from fracturing is fixable and passive, and facilities and operation are simple.
An attachment engaging unit 49 is arranged in the leading side clamp 48 of a turning arm 40 in advance, the leading side of the metallic tube 10 is gripped with the leading side clamp 48 thereby the metallic tube 10 is subjected to compressing/bending machining, a clamp engaging means 51 and the attachment engaging unit 49 are engaged with each other after a spaced apart distance between a heating part 23 and the leading side clamp 48 is increased, the attachment 50 for preventing a neck from fracturing is installed in the leading side clamp 48, thereby a stripe material contacting part 52 is brought into contact with the outer peripheral face of the metallic tube 10 to prevent the neck of the metallic tube 10 from fracturing.
