Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the mitigation of the volume of a compressed wood in a short time by first compressing the thermally softened wood under pressure in a pressure container and cooling the wood below a softening point while maintaining the interior of the pressure container at a constant static pressure.
SOLUTION: A pressurizing means for pressurizing the interior of a pressure container 10 is structured of a high temperature water delivery aperture, a feed pipe 40 and a pump 46 in a tank 30 as main components. A cooling means for cooling the interior of the pressure container 10 while maintaining it under a constant static pressure is structured mainly of relief valves and the like provided in the water delivery aperture, the feed pipe 40, the pump 46 and the water drain pipe of the pressure container 10. The temperature of a compressed wood is cooled below a softening point while it is pressurized under a constant pressure level by substituting a high temperature fluid inside the pressure container 10 with a cool fluid while the interior of the pressure container 10 is maintained at a constant static pressure level as described.
