PURPOSE: To confirm the properties of processed oil during use and to prevent the generation of processing inferiority by measuring the viscosity and temp. of processed oil after the elapse of a predetermined time after the start of use and calculating the difference between the measured viscosity and the viscosity of unused processed oil at the measured temp.
CONSTITUTION: The viscosity and temp. of rolling oil after the elapse of a predetermined time from the start of use are detected by a detector 1 and the viscosity difference Q3 between the viscosity Q1 obtained by correcting the detected viscosity Q at reference temp. S and the viscosity Q2 of unused rolling oil at the reference temp. S is calculated by an operator 2. Next, it is investigated whether the viscosity difference Q3 is within an allowable viscosity range T to confirm the properties of the rolling oil at that point of time and the confirmed result is outputted. The operator 2 also outputs the value of the measured temp. P and that of the measured viscosity Q and, on the basis of this output, the measured values of temp. and viscosity and the confirmed result are displayed on a display device.
