To facilitate connecting and fixing work of wooden building members to each other by using an existing simple fixing bracket.
There is provided a method of connecting and fixing wooden building members to each other. In the method, a threaded rod (anchor bolt) 15, a nut 21, etc. are employed as fixing bracket elements. According to the method, a through hole 16 is bored in a sill 11, and an insertion hole 17 in a column member 12, respectively, and a round hole 18 is bored at an edge of the insertion hole 17 in a direction almost orthogonal to the insertion hole 17. Then an area around a location at which the insertion hole 17 is opened to a wall surface of the round hole 18, is almost flatly cut, and the anchor bolt 15 is inserted into the through hole 16 and the insertion hole 17, followed by fixedly fastening the anchor bolt by the nut 21 etc. Herein the inner diameter of the round hole 18 is set to about 54 mm or less, and the location of the insertion hole 17 formed in the column member 12 is set in the range of 1/6 the length of one side of the column member 11 from an axial center of the column member 11 in a radial direction.
