To enhance the efficiencies for assembling and storing a three- dimensional shell-like structure comprising hexagonal structural elements connected to one another.
Twenty hexagonal structural elements 11 are represented as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S and T in order. Four of the hexagonal structural elements connected to one another in staggered fashion, such as the elements A, B, C, D in Figure 2, are defined as a connecting blocks. Four of the hexagonal structural elements connected to one another in arcuate form, such as the elements A, B, C, D in Figure 5, are defined as γconnecting blocks. Further, the staggered connections among A, B, C, D in Figure 2 are different in staggering direction from the staggered connections among A, B, C, D in Figure 4. To distinguish the staggered connections in Figure 4 from those in Figure 2, the staggered connections of the configuration in Figure 4 are defined as consisting of β connecting blocks. Series connections are represented as α.α.α.α.α. To construct a structure from the series connections shown in Figure 2, connections of A-Q, A-H, B-S, C-G, D-T, E-L, F-J, I-P, K-O, M-T, and N-R are made.
