Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for constructing a foundation pile which can be handled easily, allows easy execution of works, and secures an appropriate plumbness and bearing force.
SOLUTION: An expansion/contraction hollow pile 1 is composed of an inner pipe 1a, middle pipe 1b, and outer pipe 1c, and a plurality of such piles 1 are in the overlapped condition installed in the position specified for placing of foundation pile. The inner pipe 1a is filled with particles 4 such as sand, and they are strucken by a hammer 5 so that the tip of the inner pipe 1a is blocked with the compacted particles 4. With a further strike, the inner pipe 1a is driven into the ground 10, and the middle pipe 1b and outer pipe 1c are going to be driven in such a way as drawn into the ground 10 while an outward facing flange 2a at the top of the inner pipe 1a, an inward facing flange 3b at the bottom of the middle pipe 1b, an outward facing flange 2b at the top of the middle pipe 1b, and an inward facing flange 3c at the bottom of the outer pipe 1c are engaged one by one. When the piles 1 are driven to a specified depth, the cavity 6 inside them is filled with concrete 7.
