To provide a container for simply and rapidly diagnosing foreign substance in lubricant, and to provide a method for diagnosing foreign substance in the lubricant.
This foreign substance diagnosing container 10A is constituted so that a container body 12 is filled with a predetermined amount of the lubricant 11 and keeps an upper lid 14 closed, while the foreign substance 13 is sedimented on the bottom part inside the container body by centrifugal separation operation by using a centrifugal separator. This sedimented foreign matter 13 is subjected to microscopic inspection, color-tone inspection or fluorescent X-ray irradiating inspection to rapidly diagnose the kind of the foreign substance in the lubricant on the spot. The simple and rapid diagnosis of the lubricant becomes possible, and an aim for replacing the lubricant at a proper period can be set.
