PURPOSE: To stably supply molten steel having high cleanliness into a mold for continuous casting regardless of stationary part and non-stationary part by using a tundish which can be reused in the hot state as it is.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of supplying the molten steel into the mold for continuous casting through the tundish provided with the tundish body 10 having opening space without fixed weir in the inner part and a tundish weir 20 erected so as to be freely ascendable/descendable on the bottom wall of the tundish body, flux containing 30-65wt.% CaO and 25-60wt.% Al2O3 is charged into the molten steel surface at least near the tundish weir 20. The molten steel surface near the tundish weir 20 is partitioned with an immersion board 8, and it is desirable to float a flux 6 on the molten steel surface in the inside thereof. The flux 6 is heated with a plasma torch 9, etc., when necessary. The inclusion is effectively floated up and separated from the molten steel 2 by combination of the opening/closing weir 21 freely ascendable/descendable and the absorption of inclusion with the flux 6 and the molten steel having high cleanliness is poured into the mold for continuous casting.
