Title:
METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY ANNEALING STAINLESS STEEL STRIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0711342
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of surface flaw at the time of continuous annealing by controlling the surface roughness of a hearth roll which is manufactured with use of ceramic fibers within the specified range.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of using the roll in which the ceramic fibers are formed into a disk shape as the hearth roll, operation is executed while controlling the surface roughness Ra of the roll in the range of 0.1-18μm. In this way, transferring of a pattern on the roll surface to the stainless steel strip due to the rough surface roughness of the hearth roll is prevented and the generation of fine scratches due to slip by the decrease of the coefficient of friction is prevented.
