Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for preventing surface cracking caused by Cu by checking casting and cooling conditions at the time of continuously casting a Cu-containing steel and heating condition at the subsequent hot-rolling process.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of casting the Cu-containing steel having ≥0.1wt.% Cu by using a continuous caster having synchronously shifting type mold, a thin cast slab is produced in the casting condition that the thickness is kept at ≤75mm and the staying time in the temp. range of 1300-1050°C for cooling is set to <1min. Thereafter, after heating so as not to be ≥1050°C, the hot rolling is executed by using a finish hot-rollling mill.
