Abstract:
To provide a method for continuously casting metal and a casting trough used to this method with which the development of slag caused by the reaction of the added active components and oxygen in the atmosphere, can effectively be restrained.
The continuous casting is performed by using the casting trough 1 setting the width of molten metal surface 6 small by narrowing the inner width at the upper part of the cross section in the flowing direction of the molten metal 5. The reaction of the added active component and the oxygen in the atmosphere and the development of the slag caused by this reaction, are restrained by narrowing the molten metal surface width 1.
