Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the formation of meniscus mark on the surface of a steel strip coming out from a steel strip continuous casting apparatus. SOLUTION: In the steel strip continuous casting for feeding the solidified strip 20 downward from a roll gap 69 by introducing molten metal into the roll gap 69 between one pair of parallel casting rolls 16, 16 through a metal supplying nozzle 19, forming a molten metal casting pool part 68 supported on the roll casting surfaces just above the roll gap 69 and rotating the casting rolls 16, 16, the metal supplying nozzle 19 is constituted of a refractory material containing carbon and effective quantity of compound of one or plural number containing sulfur.
