To cut a fastener chain in a required cut shape regardless of the kind of the fastener chain, without applying unnecessary tension to the cut part of the chain and without loosening the fastener chain.
The fastener chain FC is continuously conveyed on a downward inclined chain conveyor passage 121 from a feed part 124 toward a chain cutting part 110. If an end of a gap part S of the fastener chain is detected on the way by a detection means 126, the measurement of the length is started. When a prescribed length of the chain is conveyed, the conveyance by the feed part 124 is stopped and the chain cutting part 110 is actuated to cut the chain at the center of the gap part S with an arbitrary angle. The cut slide fastener SF is slid down on the inclined surface and temporarily received by a chain receiving part. After that, the cut slide fastener falls down naturally by its own weight to be stored in a storage part 150 below.
