Abstract:
To create a new method and control device for operating an engine.SOLUTION: A method for operating an engine including a plurality of cylinders (2), which is preferably configured as a dual fuel engine: comprises, for combusting a gas/air mixture composed of a gaseous fuel and air, igniting the gas/air mixture in the cylinders (2) by using an ignition fluid. In the method; in the region of each cylinder (2), in an operation cycle of each cylinder, at first, the gaseous fuel and air of the gas/air mixture is introduced into each cylinder (2), and then, for controlling the start of combustion, the ignition fluid is introduced in each cylinder through a main injection; and in each operation cycle, after the gas/air mixture is introduced into each cylinder (2) and before the main injection, likewise, the ignition fluid is introduced into each cylinder (2) through at least one pre-injection, in which the injection quantity of one or more pre-injections is determined according to a cylinder pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
