PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid extending of a call setting time in an exchange, increase of a required memory quantity and double pick-up of a communication line in the case of using an additional device.
SOLUTION: At the time of receiving an IAM message (address message), the exchange of a repeating station B connecting the communication line to which the additional device E like DCME(digital circuit multiplication equipment) is inserted sends an IAM message (A) added with the display of a continuity test to the call incoming side of a rear order, requires the state setting of the device E and confirms state setting to send a COT message (continuity test satisfactory signal) to the succeeding order. The exchange of a rear position repeating station C receiving the message (A) sends an IAM message (B) added with the display of the continuity test to the succeeding order side and waits for arriving of a COT message to be received continuously. After receiving a COT message continuously after the IAM message (A or B), the exchange of a call incoming station returns an ACM message (address completion signal) to the call originating side of a preceding order.
