PURPOSE: To alleviate an impact by controlling end approaches of rigid feeders for supplying power to an electric railcar and automatic separation/contact of a current collector.
CONSTITUTION: A sensor 3 for detecting end approaches 5, 6 is placed in an electric railcar. It is so controlled that, when the approach 5 of a feeder end is detected, a signal for separating from a feeder is applied to a control mechanism of a current collector and the collector receiving the signal is separated at a predetermined position near the feeder end. Then, when the approach 6 of the starting end of the feeder is detected, a signal for bringing into contact with the feeder is applied to the mechanism of the collector, the collector receiving the signal is so controlled as to be brought into contact with the feeder so as to reduce an impact at a predetermined position near the starting end of the feeder.
