Abstract:

PURPOSE: To assure a stable operation and to improve the yield of a metal in the reduction method for a coke packed-bed type smelting reduction furnace which produces the metal by reducing granular body contg. the oxides of effective metals, such as iron ore, and is provided with tuyeres of two stages, upper and lower, as one set.

CONSTITUTION: The blast rates of the respective tuyeres are measured by an instrument 21 for measuring the actual blast rate of each tuyere for each of the plural tuyeres disposed in a circumferential direction and the average value thereof is computed by a computing element 22. The average value is inputted together with the set value 23 of the blowing rate of the granular body into a computing element 24 which in turn determines the blowing rate of the granular body. On the other hand, the actual blast rate of the granular body of each tuyere is measured and compared and the blowing rate of the granular body per blast rate to each tuyere is controlled to a specified range.
