In this method for controlling a coal gasification apparatus, the coal gasification apparatus is provided with a gas temperature measuring device 3 for measuring a gas temperature when coal is gasified in a gasification furnace. Based on a signal from the gas temperature measuring device 3, a ratio 16 of oxygen/coal to be fed into the gasification furnace is compensated.
