PURPOSE: To uniformize the temp. distribution in the transverse direction of a heating furnace even in a low range of a combustion load rate by calculating the number of burners which can be assigned to combustion at the set min. flame length or above from the quantity of heat input assigned over the entire part of the burners and the quantity of heat input at which the set min. flame length is obtainable.
CONSTITUTION: The number (n) of the burners 5 which can be assigned to the combustion at the set min. flame length FL or above is calculated by the equation from the quantity of heat input quantity of heat input QC instructed to the heating furnace and the min. quantity of heat input q0 at the set min. flame length FL of the respective side burners 5 of the furnace 3. The total number of the burners 5 is designated as N and all the burners 5 are assigned to the combustion when n=N. n-pieces of the burners 5 are assigned to the combustion and (N-n)th pieces of the burners 5 are assigned to the non- combustion and n-pieces of the combustion burners 5 are successively shifted at prescribed time intervals in the direction where the burners are arranged when n<N.
