PURPOSE: To prevent a termination of an operation of an electrical refrigerator by a method wherein when a detected current becomes an abnormal value during controlling of an inverter, its inverter controlling is terminated and at the same time it is changed over to a control through a commercial power supply.

CONSTITUTION: As a signal corresponding to a rapid freezing button operation is inputted to a controlling device 4a, changing-over switches 6 and 6 are changed over to an inverter device 3'. At this time, a load current of a compressor 1 is detected by a current sensor 9, data corresponding to this detection is inputted to a controlling device 4a, an inputting operation is executed from the inputted data, thereafter at a controlling device 4a judgement is carried out whether the inputted data is abnormal or not. At this time, as a current flowing in the compressor 1 becomes abnormal by a certain external cause, the data corresponding to the abnormal current is inputted to the controlling device 4a, an abnormal flag set in advance by this controlling device 4a is set and then an abnormal lamp of a displaying device 7a is lit. Then, the changing-over relay switches 6 and 6 are changed over to a side N.C. by the controlling device 4a and the second changing-over relay switches 8 and 8 are changed over to their OFF states and then the compressor 1 is operated under a control of the commercial power supply.
