Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the effects of service interruption minimum by continuing the operation of a motor when AC power supply has stopped, and resuming the normal operation of the motor as quickly as possible after the failure of the AC power supply has been recovered. CONSTITUTION:When an AC power supply 10 has stopped, a power-stoppage detector 46 detects the stop, and its output signal is supplied to an operation-signal- input terminal a of a DC-currnet-command generator 48. In this way, the inverter frequency is adjusted, and an inverter-DC-input current is kept at a small value which is approximately equal to the exciting current for a motor 18. The operation of the motor 18 is continued under the conditions the power factor is approximately zero. When the AC power supply 10 has been recovered, the operation of the DC-current-command generator 48 is stopped, the frequency of the inverter 16 is brought back to the normal value, and the operating speed of the induction motor 18 is brought back to the speed before the power-supply stoppage.
