Abstract:
To provide a method for controlling an electric motor and a device for controlling an electric motor which suppress a surge generated in a switching element and reduce a burden applied on the switching element, even when a sudden change of a load on an electric motor occurs.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an electric motor, which calculates a voltage command value applied to an electric motor on the basis of a current value supplied to the electric motor, controls a PWM signal transmitted to the pair of switching elements on the basis of the voltage command value, and thereby controls the AC power, when DC power is converted into AC power by at least a pair of switching elements, and the AC power is supplied to an electric motor of an electric vehicle, lowers a switching speed of the switching elements when a sudden change of a load applied on the electric motor is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
