Abstract:

To close selvage yarns at the optimal closing timings, respectively, in response to the flying state of a weft in an electrically driven selvage device 3.

This method for controlling the electrically driven selvage device of a fluid jet loom is characterized by detecting the prescribed position- passing time of a weft 2 with one or more sensors (the first unwinding sensor 25, the second unwinding sensor 26, a picking sensor 27, a picking sensor 44, a weft sensor 45) to output a detection signal, driving the electrically driven selvage device 3 on the basis of the detection signal to close the opening of the selvage yarns 17, and thus holding the weft with the selvage yarns 17. Thereby, the weft 2 can surely be held as much quickly as possible without preventing the flight of the weft 2.
