A film thickness distribution in an axial direction of a water film to be formed on a relay roller 11 for delivering the dampening water downstream by coming in contact with a dampening origin roller 12 being a feed source of the dampening water, is measured. Each distance between each axial end part of the relay roller 11 and corresponding each axial end part of the dampening origin roller 12 and a torsion angle between the relay roller 11 and the dampening origin roller 12 are adjusted based on the measured result.
