Abstract:

To provide a method for controlling gloss of an image through application of a UV-curable overcoat composition not only improving image durability, but enabling to control the gloss of the image, and applicable in digital field.

The method includes the steps of: applying an overcoat composition which comprises at least one gelling agent, at least one curable monomer, at least one curable wax and if necessary at least one photo-initiator, and is curable by irradiation with ultraviolet ray to a substrate; heating, before curing, the imparted overcoat composition at 35C or above; and irradiating the overcoat composition with ultraviolet ray to substantially cure the overcoat composition after heating.
